OK Movement Defends Independence Against NDC's Dickson

The OK Movement, led by Director-General John Ughulu, has issued a response to Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), after he labeled the movement's 59-member Presidential Campaign Council as "nonsensical." Dickson argued that support groups should not compete with political parties and should focus on mobilization for candidates. Ughulu acknowledged Dickson's general points but contested the characterization of the OK Movement as merely a support group.

He emphasized that the OK Movement operates independently, with its own leadership and structures, and is comprised of individuals from various political backgrounds united in support of NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi and running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso. Ughulu clarified that the OK Movement is not an appendage of any political party and is distinctly organized to maintain its identity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
