Ahmadu Bello University Denies Secret Nuclear Weapons Program, Emphasizes Peaceful Nuclear Energy Activities

Ahmadu Bello University in Kaduna State has refuted claims of being involved in a secret nuclear weapons program, dismissing a viral video alleging such activities. The university's director of public affairs, Malam Auwalu Umar, clarified that the video was misleading and aimed to misinform the public.

Umar highlighted the university's history of engaging in peaceful nuclear energy research and training, dating back to the establishment of its Center for Energy Research in 1976. The university has collaborated with international partners like the IAEA, the U.S., Russia, and China in advancing nuclear science and technology.
