Ndume Supports U.S. Military Presence in Nigeria for Security

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, expressed his support for the deployment of United States military forces in Nigeria to help tackle the country's escalating security challenges. Speaking on a political program on Friday, Ndume highlighted the severe impact of insecurity on communities, particularly in the northeast region.

He welcomed foreign assistance as a necessary measure to guarantee peace and safety, noting that the current situation has deteriorated to a point where external support is essential. Ndume raised concerns about the implications of establishing foreign military bases but emphasized that restoring security should be a priority.

He articulated that the political elite often overlook the plight of the poor, stating that the average person would welcome American assistance if it meant safety. He used an analogy about a neighbor's house on fire to illustrate the need for help in dire situations, asserting that rejecting assistance in such circumstances would be foolish.
