African Teams Gear Up for 2026 ITTF Championship in London

The 2026 ITTF World Team Championship will take place in London from April 28 to May 10, featuring 12 men's and 13 women's teams from Africa. This tournament marks a historic celebration of the ITTF's centenary since its inception in England in 1926.

The competition will unfold over 13 days at two iconic venues, beginning with group matches to determine qualification pathways. The top-ranked teams will advance to the knockout rounds.

Nigeria and Egypt are leading the African contingent, with Nigeria's men's team joined by Algeria, Madagascar, Benin Republic, Tunisia, Morocco, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, Angola, South Africa, and Cameroon. The women's side will see Egypt's Hana Goda, the continent's highest-ranked female player, leading the challenge against teams from South Africa, Algeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Benin Republic, DR Congo, Namibia, Ghana, Angola, Ethiopia, and Madagascar.

Key fixtures include Egypt facing South Africa and Ghana meeting Puerto Rico.
