Nigeria U-18, U-20 Handball Teams Arrive in Togo

The Nigeria U-18 and U-20 men's handball teams have arrived in Lom, Togo, for the 2026 IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3 tournament, which is set to take place from April 7 to 11. The teams arrived in high spirits after a week of intensive training camp focused on tactical preparation and fitness.

The tournament, organized by the International Handball Federation (IHF), serves as a development platform for youth teams, with the winners in the U-18 and junior U-20 categories earning the right to represent Zone 3 at the continental phase. The Nigeria U-18 team has been drawn into Group B, where they will compete against Benin, Burkina Faso, and Niger, while the junior U-20 team is also in Group B, facing Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso, with Ghana, Benin, Togo, and Niger in their group.

The final squad for the U-18 team includes players such as Fridai Shuaibu, Shaibu Moham, and Aliyu Rufai, among others, and is guided by officials Abdulhakim Yakubu and Ayo Joshua.
