ITUC-Africa Condemns UAE for Abuse of African Migrants, Urges Action

The International Trade Union Confederation-Africa (ITUC-Africa) has strongly criticized the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the escalating cases of abuse against African migrants, particularly women. The organization condemned the UAE for its role in trafficking, violence, and exploitation faced by African migrant workers, as highlighted in a recent BBC documentary titled "Death in Dubai." ITUC-Africa called on African governments to protect their citizens from such abuses and demanded that the UAE authorities take action to address the systemic issues leading to these violations.

The statement signed by ITUC-Africa's General Secretary, Akhator Joel Odigie, emphasized the need for the UAE to adhere to international conventions and laws protecting migrant workers' rights.
