NGX Rings Closing Gong for Gender Equality on IWD 2023

On March 8, 2023, the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX) and its partners marked International Women's Day by ringing the closing gong to promote gender equality, aligning with the UN Women theme "Right, Justice, Action for Women and Girls." Temi Popoola, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NGX, highlighted the critical role of capital markets in fostering inclusive economic growth and emphasized the need for women's full participation as leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors. Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, commended NGX for its commitment to advancing gender equality within the financial ecosystem.

Chioma Uzodimma, First Lady of Imo State, called for collective action to expand opportunities for women and girls. Jude Chiemeka, CEO of the Nigerian Exchange, reiterated the importance of broadening women's participation in the capital market.

The event featured female board members from NGX and other industry leaders, reinforcing the need for sustained action to close the gender gap in leadership and financial opportunities.
