GHC Mobilizes Youth for Malaria-Free Nigeria Initiative

The Geneith Health Competition (GHC) has called on Nigerian youths to take a leading role in the fight against malaria, coinciding with International Youth Day 2026, themed “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.” Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, the GHC initiator and CEOAFRICA Managing Director, emphasized that young Nigerians share aspirations for good health and quality education, which malaria threatens. He urged universities, polytechnics, and colleges to participate, highlighting the competition as a chance for students to win scholarships and develop leadership skills.

Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, Chairman of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, encouraged students to become active agents in the malaria-free campaign. The competition has gained momentum with Ekiti State University (EKSU) and Sahlan College of Health Science and Technology joining ahead of the October 30, 2026 registration deadline.

The competition features a ₦1 billion prize pool and includes a virtual preliminary examination, leading to public-health quizzes and a national grand finale, with participation from students across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
