JAMB Screens Underage Candidates Scoring 320+ for UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced a screening process for underage candidates who achieved scores of 320 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin confirmed that these candidates will receive invitations to proceed to the next stage of the admission process, where their chosen institutions will assess them.

The board has established that candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, to qualify for normal admission eligibility. However, underage candidates who meet the score requirement may still be considered for admission, subject to additional screening policies approved by the Federal Ministry of Education.

JAMB previously withheld results for underage candidates, and those candidates have not yet received their results on the portal. The board has stated that candidates who cross the 80 threshold will be considered for admission, provided they meet the necessary requirements.
