JAMB Explains Reasons for Withheld UTME Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a statement regarding the withholding of certain Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, results are not released for candidates who are underage or have existing academic outstanding issues.

Specifically, candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, to qualify for registration and to sit for the UTME. The board emphasized that only candidates who meet the strict performance criteria, including achieving a benchmark score of 320, will be shortlisted for further screening.

This clarification aims to address concerns from candidates who have not yet received their results.
