JAMB and WAEC Set N4,000 Fee for O’Level Verification

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) have announced a fixed fee of N4,000 for O’Level result verification, applicable once during the tertiary admission process. This decision was disclosed in a joint statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.

Candidates whose admissions are managed by JAMB will verify their WAEC results through JAMB, which will then provide the verified results to the respective institutions. The N4,000 fee is to be paid via the designated JAMB platform, not through the candidates' chosen tertiary institutions.

Successful verification means candidates will not need to pay for additional verifications at their institutions, as JAMB will share the verified results for screening and admission processing. This initiative aims to prevent repeated verification processes for candidates applying to multiple institutions.

JAMB has also introduced an online system for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home, reducing errors and unnecessary visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
