Jamilu Gwamna Named APC Consensus Candidate in Gombe

Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State. This decision was ratified during a stakeholders' meeting held on Saturday night, which was attended by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The meeting involved discussions among 11 politicians who had previously indicated their interest in contesting for the governorship seat. Notable figures included Dr.

Aminu Yuguda, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, and Sen.

Said Alkali. Businessman and politician Arch Yunusa Yakubu withdrew from the contest prior to the meeting.

The APC also selected candidates for three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats, and 24 state House of Assembly constituencies. Governor Yahaya is set to contest against Sen.

Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the Gombe South senatorial district. The consensus process aims to unify the party and ensure support for the selected candidates.
