Jandor to Contest APC Primary Despite Hamzat's Endorsement

Abdul Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has announced his intention to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Lagos State, despite the recent endorsement of Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the current Deputy Governor, by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The endorsement was made during a meeting of the APC's Governor's Advisory Council (GAC), where Hamzat was presented as the consensus candidate for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Jandor, who previously ran as the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, has expressed his commitment to contesting the primary, although the leadership of the APC has yet to formally communicate any changes regarding the party's candidate position for the upcoming elections. Jandor's announcement comes amidst a backdrop of political maneuvering within the APC, which remains under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
