Jigawa Assembly Approves N84bn for Infrastructure Development

The Jigawa State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, approved Governor Umar Namadi's request to access N84 billion from the federal government during a plenary session on Tuesday. This funding is part of a federal government intervention program aimed at supporting infrastructure development across the state.

The allocation is expected to provide N7 billion monthly over a 12-month period. The funds will be utilized for critical projects including road construction, healthcare, water supply, education, agriculture, and rural electrification.

The state government plans to obtain the funds through a commercial bank, with the federal government managing the monthly repayments. This initiative aims to enhance public services and improve the living standards of residents in Jigawa State.
