Jigawa State Tops Nigeria's Voter Registration Phase II

In the ongoing second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, Jigawa State has emerged as the leading state in Nigeria, recording 98,698 new voter registrations, which accounts for 8.03% of the national total. According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the total number of eligible Nigerians who completed their registration by February 13, 2026, reached 1,228,648.

This figure marks a substantial increase from the previous total of 884,737 registrations at the end of week five. Following Jigawa, Lagos State recorded 86,307 new registrations, while Sokoto and Kano states had 77,004 and 71,990 registrations, respectively.

The data indicates a surge in citizen participation, with 673,124 applications initiated online and 555,524 individuals completing the process at physical registration centers. Notably, youth aged 18-34 accounted for 848,066 registrations, representing 69.02% of the total, while female registrants totaled 696,891 (57%) and male registrants stood at 531,757 (43%).

Additionally, persons with disabilities accounted for 19,414 registrations.
