PDP Suspends Birnin Kudu Chairman Amid Misconduct Allegations

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Lukman Wurno, the chairman of the Birnin Kudu local government chapter, due to allegations of misconduct. The suspension was announced in a statement issued by the party's local government secretariat, which emphasized that Wurno must cease representing the PDP immediately.

Ibrahim Maigida Halimb has been endorsed to act as chairman pending further decisions from party leadership. This action aligns with the party's disciplinary procedures aimed at maintaining unity and discipline within the chapter.

The PDP leadership reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability. In a related development, the Ogun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formed a caretaker committee to oversee party affairs while addressing internal conflicts.

State chairman Femi Soluad disclosed this decision in a statement issued on Saturday in Abeokuta, aimed at restoring stability and cohesion within the party. The committee is tasked with filling vacant local government chairmanship positions and stabilizing operations ahead of an upcoming state congress.
