Jigawa Governor Raises Ward Heads' Allowance to N10,000

On Tuesday, during a meeting of the Jigawa State Executive Council held at the Government House in Dutsinma, Governor Umar Namadi approved an increase in the monthly allowance for ward heads from N3,000 to N10,000. Dr.

Nura Kazaur, the Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, highlighted that this increase is a gesture of empathy and recognition of the traditional role of ward heads as grassroots leaders who help implement government directives within their communities. The council noted the importance of ward heads in community administration and emphasized that the increase is necessary in light of current economic realities.

The decision reflects the administration's commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey towards a greater Jigawa. Additionally, the council approved a bill for the establishment of the Jigawa State University of Medical and Allied Health Sciences and appointed Prof.

Mahmud Sani as the first principal officer.
