Jigawa Women Praise DSS for Handling Walida's Case

On Thursday, women in Jigawa State staged a solidarity march to commend the Department of State Services (DSS) for its handling of the high-profile case involving Walida Abdulhadi, a young woman from the state. The demonstration, led by Aisha Shamshudeen, Balaraba Aliyu, and Salma Abdullahi, took place at Maiqwarya Roundabout in Dutse, where participants chanted songs of support and carried banners thanking the DSS for its professionalism.

The women expressed appreciation for the DSS's refusal to politicize Walida's situation, emphasizing the need to prioritize her welfare. Salma Abdullahi recounted her positive experience with the DSS when reporting a rape case, highlighting the agency's diligence.

The DSS Director General, Tosin Ajayi, assured that Walida's welfare remains a top priority during court proceedings. The event also saw support from Governor Umar Namadi, who was praised for his proactive approach in ensuring Walida's welfare, including her relocation to Abuja.

The case serves as a critical lesson for parents on the protection of young girls.
