Jigawa Women Praise DSS for Handling Walida's Case

Women in Jigawa State, led by Aisha Shamshudeen, Balaraba Aliyu, and Salma Abdullahi, expressed their support for the Department of State Services (DSS) regarding the handling of Walida Abdulhadi's case during a solidarity march on Thursday. The women praised the DSS for its professional approach to the case, which has become a significant test case for gender rights.

They emphasized the importance of the DSS's refusal to politicize Walida's plight and highlighted the need for diligent investigations. Abubakar Babangida, speaking on behalf of the Hadejia Advocacy Movement, commended Governor Umar Namadi for his genuine efforts to resolve the matter and noted the importance of therapy for Walida's family.

The DSS Director General, Tosin Ajayi, assured that Walida's welfare would be a top priority and that the investigation would be conducted transparently. The case has drawn attention to the challenges faced by young girls in the state and the responsibilities of parents and the government in ensuring their safety.
