JNI Demands Police Investigation in Kaduna Mob Killing

Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has demanded a comprehensive investigation into the alleged role of police officers in the mob killing of Ummulkhair in Mararaban Jo, Kaduna State. The leadership of JNI, represented by Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, issued this demand in a statement from their Secretary General, Professor Khalid Abubakar Aliyu.

The organization condemned the lynching as barbaric and warned against the increasing resort to jungle justice, which they believe is pushing Nigeria towards lawlessness and moral collapse. JNI expressed particular concern over the alleged actions of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Mararaban Jo, who reportedly surrendered the victim to an angry mob instead of ensuring their safety.

They urged security agencies to conduct an impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing and to hold accountable any police personnel involved, whether directly or indirectly. Additionally, JNI appealed to the Kaduna State government to provide humanitarian support to the bereaved family, including educational assistance for the deceased's children and psychological support.
