Ajose Challenges Hamzat's APC Endorsement in Lagos

Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose has publicly challenged the endorsement of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as the consensus candidate for the APC in the upcoming Lagos gubernatorial elections. Ajose has committed N50 million to purchase the APC governorship nomination form, directly contesting the party's established power structure.

He argues that the endorsement reflects a historical marginalization of the Badagry division and calls for a fair and just approach to candidacy within the party. Ajose, a technocrat and self-made entrepreneur, believes he is better equipped to handle the state's complex financial landscape.

He criticizes the current consensus as a "kangaroo arrangement" and advocates for a transparent primary process. Despite the risks associated with challenging the status quo, Ajose aims to mobilize support from various sectors, including transport unions and religious networks, to demonstrate his viability as a candidate.
