Jonathan to Host National Democracy Dialogue This Month

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has arranged to convene a national democracy dialogue aimed at examining the state of Nigeria’s democracy and the role of political parties in enhancing democratic governance. This announcement was made during the public presentation of the autobiography of former Plateau State Governor, Senator Jonah David Jang, titled ‘From Soldiering to Politics’, which coincided with Jang's 80th birthday celebration in Jos, Plateau State, over the weekend.

The dialogue, scheduled for this month, is organized by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation and is expected to gather political leaders, policymakers, scholars, and other stakeholders to discuss the evolution of political parties and the challenges faced in navigating democracy in Nigeria. Key topics will include the evolution of political parties and strategies for strengthening democracy.

Jonathan emphasized the importance of building strong political parties and democratic institutions for Nigeria's stability, national unity, and sustainable development.
