Tinubu Orders 5,000 CCTV Cameras for Plateau Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the deployment of 5,000 CCTV cameras in Plateau State during a visit on Thursday, following violent incidents in the Angwan Rukuba area that led to the deaths of 28 individuals and numerous injuries. This directive was issued at a town hall meeting with stakeholders, where Tinubu emphasized the need for immediate strengthening of security measures to tackle recurring attacks.

He highlighted the federal government's commitment to enhancing intelligence gathering and rapid response to security threats. Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who was elected to promote peace and prosperity, acknowledged the attacks as a temporary setback but expressed confidence in the federal government's support and the capabilities of security forces to overcome these challenges.

Mutfwang also mentioned the importance of convening security council meetings to ensure ongoing security despite persistent issues over the past three decades under previous governors.
