FG to Deploy AI Cameras in Plateau to Combat Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu announced the deployment of 5,000 AI-enabled camera networks in Plateau State to combat insecurity during his visit to Jos on March 29, following a gun attack that resulted in the loss of innocent lives in the Angwan Rukuba district. He directed the Minister of Defence, General Christoph Musa (Rtd), and the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to investigate the attack and ensure justice for the victims.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijjani, will oversee the immediate installation of the security cameras in collaboration with state security agencies. Tinubu expressed his condolences to the affected families and emphasized the need for proactive measures to prevent future violence.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed gratitude for the federal support and highlighted ongoing security efforts, while also announcing the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards to bolster state security.
