JRB Achieves 98% Satisfaction with New Tax ID Portal

The Joint Revenue Board (JRB) announced a 98% satisfaction rate regarding its newly launched Tax ID platform, which was implemented as part of ongoing tax reforms under President Bola Tinubu's administration. The portal, launched on January 1, 2026, serves as Nigeria's centralized taxpayer database, enabling individuals to generate a unique 13-digit tax ID using their national identification number.

The JRB conducted a survey to assess user experience, which included feedback from both individual and corporate taxpayers. Mr.

Effiong Abasifrek, head of the JRB help desk team, reported that 98% of respondents found the process seamless and efficient. Users like Amina Yahaya and Oyedemi Jide praised the portal for its quick retrieval process.

Mr. Olusegun Adesokan, the JRB's executive secretary, urged taxpayers who have not yet retrieved their tax ID to do so, emphasizing the platform's self-service design and strong data protection measures.

The JRB aims to harmonize fragmented taxpayer records across the federation.
