Governor's Initiative Provides 26 Widows with Homes for Better Living

Governor Nwifuru's administration in Nigeria is set to provide 26 widows with bungalow houses through the Widows Housing Project, offering new homes to vulnerable women in 13 Local Government Areas. The initiative, led by the Better Health for Rural Women and Children Internally Displaced Persons Foundation (BERWO), aims to empower and uplift widows in the community.

The project inauguration on September 20, 2025, saw widows like Mrs. Josephine Ekoyo and Mrs.

Cecilia Ogbuinya receiving keys to their newly built homes, marking a significant step towards improving the living conditions of widows in the state. BERWO's mission includes enhancing child welfare, improving healthcare access for rural women and children, and providing economic empowerment opportunities.
