Army-DSS-Police Operation Rescues 25 Kidnapped Victims

A joint operation conducted by the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Police resulted in the successful rescue of 25 kidnapped victims in Bwari, Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The victims, comprising 14 men, six women, and five children, were abducted in the first week of March by bandits operating in the area.

The operation involved a gun duel between security forces and the bandits, leading to the death of two kidnappers and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and a locally fabricated shotgun. Community leaders expressed gratitude towards the DSS for their tireless efforts and intelligence gathering that facilitated the rescue.

The village head of Byazhin ward commended the Director General of DSS, Mr. Tosin Ajayi, for his commitment to tackling insecurity.

Additionally, the DSS arrested a suspect identified as Habila Abraham, who is currently in custody awaiting arraignment in court.
