Troops Rescue 19 Kidnapped Victims in Abuja Operation

On a recent operation conducted by the 7 Guard Battalion of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Nigerian Police Force and local vigilantes, troops successfully rescued 19 kidnapped victims in the Gidan Dogo area of Bwari, Abuja. The operation was launched following credible intelligence regarding the whereabouts of terrorists responsible for recent abductions in the Byazhin area.

During the operation, troops made contact with the bandits, leading to a firefight in which one terrorist was neutralized while others fled the scene, likely sustaining gunshot wounds. The operation also resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and a locally fabricated firearm.

The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention. Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya commended the troops for their bravery and professionalism during the operation and reiterated the commitment of the Guard Brigade to safeguard residents of the Federal Capital Territory and combat criminal activities in the area.
