Fubara Celebrates Democracy Day, Urges Unity in Nigeria

On June 12, River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara reaffirmed that democracy remains Nigeria's strongest path to unity and prosperity. In a goodwill message issued in Port Harcourt, he highlighted the significance of June 12 as a historical date representing the enduring struggle for freedom and justice, particularly honoring Chief Mashood Abiola, his wife Kudirat Abiola, and other heroes of democracy.

Fubara noted that the sacrifices made by these individuals laid the foundation for Nigeria's democratic journey, which continues to evolve despite challenges. He emphasized that democracy provides the best framework for managing Nigeria's diversity and transforming it into a source of strength.

Fubara commended President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to renewing hope and advancing policies aimed at improving citizens' lives. He called on all Nigerians to renew their commitment to democratic ideals and work together for a stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous nation.
