Aiyedatiwa: Insecurity Threatens Nigeria's Democracy

During the commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of the June 12 presidential election in Akure, Ondo State Governor Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa described insecurity as a significant threat to the sustainability of democracy in Nigeria.

He called for collective efforts to uphold democratic values and principles, emphasizing that democracy thrives in an atmosphere of peace and security. Aiyedatiwa commended President Bola Tinubu for his ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity across the country, noting that the Tinubu administration has shown a strong commitment to addressing security challenges.

He highlighted the importance of civic engagement and the role of citizens in holding political leaders accountable. Former Edo State Governor Senator Adam Oshiomhole, who was a guest speaker at the event, echoed the sentiment that democracy empowers ordinary people to challenge power and demand justice.

Aiyedatiwa reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring safety and welfare for all citizens.
