Tinubu Honors NDC's Osa Director on Democracy Day

On June 12, President Bola Tinubu conferred a national honour on Osa Director, the Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), during the celebration of Democracy Day. Osa Director was among 50 Nigerians recognized for their significant contributions to the pro-democracy struggle, which culminated in the restoration of democratic governance in the country.

The awards were announced in the context of the 2026 Democracy Day celebrations. The recipients, including journalists, civil rights activists, political leaders, and military officers, were acknowledged for enduring persecution, imprisonment, exile, and hardship throughout their fight for democracy.

Osa Director's name appeared in a category designated for individuals who played a significant role in the struggle against military dictatorship in Nigeria.
