600 civil society organizations have backed former Army Chief Tukur Buratai in demanding the dismissal of Minister Nyesom Wike for his recent outburst against a naval officer in Abuja. The coalition, led by the Good Governance Network, condemned Wike's actions as unacceptable and reckless, calling for immediate action by President Bola Tinubu.

The groups warned that ignoring the issue would set a dangerous precedent of insulting security personnel without consequences. They demanded Wike's dismissal, a public apology, and an independent investigation into the incident.
