Abuja Court Dismisses Suit Against Tinubu's Tax Law Implementation

The Abuja High Court in Nigeria's capital city has dismissed a lawsuit attempting to halt the implementation of a new tax law set to commence on January 1, 2026, proposed by Tinubu. Justice Kawu ruled that the plaintiff failed to demonstrate legal grounds or irreparable harm to warrant stopping the implementation based on the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Nigerian Tax Act 2025.

The court's decision allows the implementation of the tax law to proceed as scheduled.
