ADC Amends Constitution, Re-elects David Mark as Leader

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) held a nationwide convention in Abuja on Tuesday, where it amended its constitution and re-elected David Mark as the leader of the National Working Committee (NWC). The decision was announced by Rt.

Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the former governor of Imo State and chairman of the electoral sub-committee.

Out of 1,576 accredited delegates, 1,471 voted in favor of the constitutional amendments, resulting in a 94% support rate, while 11 votes were declared void. The amendments were ratified during the party's 97th, 98th, and 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, with the motion adopted at the 100th NEC meeting held on March 25, 2026.

Senator Ireti Kingibe and Chinedu Idigo from the ADC National Organizing Secretariat outlined key resolutions adopted at the convention, which included waivers for membership requirements and provisions for the suspension of executive officers. In closing, Senator Mark thanked the delegates and reaffirmed the leadership team's commitment to the party.
