Terrorists Attack Niger State Communities Again

On Tuesday, terrorists attacked communities in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, specifically targeting Konkoso. This incident marks the second attack within a week, with approximately 200 gunmen riding 70 motorcycles storming the area in the early hours.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants set houses ablaze in Konkoso and moved towards Segbana village, causing panic among residents. Despite the chaos, there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The attack has raised concerns about security, particularly as there were no security operations on the ground to protect the community. A police outpost in the area was reportedly burned down during a previous attack last week, leading to fears among locals.

In response to the escalating violence, Governor Bago of Niger State met with his Kwara State counterpart, Abdulrazaq, behind closed doors to discuss solutions for the frequent attacks affecting border communities between the two states.
