Air Peace Resumes Flights After Union Picketing Disruption

Air Peace resumed its flight operations on Tuesday after facing disruptions caused by aviation unions that picketed its facilities in major hubs, including Lagos, Enugu, and Abuja. Efe Whiskey, the airline's spokesperson, confirmed that flights were operating despite the picketing.

He alleged that the unions targeted Air Peace because its employees had declined to join them and claimed that the unions accused the airline of owing a 5% TSC, which Air Peace had already paid to the regulatory body, NCAA. Whiskey noted that the unions had announced plans to picket all Nigerian airlines but only disrupted Air Peace's operations.

He emphasized that the airline had been making payments to the unions and questioned why Air Peace was singled out. Additionally, he mentioned that Air Peace employees had previously held a peaceful protest against joining the unions, which was allegedly disrupted by union members.
