Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel Meets President Tinubu

Governor Emmanuel, who defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on June 6, 2025, expressed his appreciation for the support received from the PDP during his tenure. He emphasized the importance of aligning Akwa Ibom State with the federal government for continued development and assured residents of his commitment to serving the state's interests, regardless of political affiliation.

Emmanuel noted that his decision to switch parties was a progressive step aimed at influencing the state's alignment with the central government. He acknowledged President Tinubu's role in providing necessary support and expressed respect for his leadership.
