Professor Amupitan Sworn In as New INEC Chairman by President Tinubu

Professor Amupitan has arrived at Aso Rock for his swearing-in ceremony as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following endorsement by President Bola Tinubu. The 58-year-old law professor from the University of Jos outlined plans to reform Nigeria's electoral process, strengthen INEC's independence, and restore public confidence.

His appointment comes after the rigorous screening process by the Senate, succeeding Professor Mahmood Yakubu. Amupitan is widely respected for his expertise in constitutional and international law.
