PDP's Olaka Nwogu Wins Rivers South-East By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Olaka Nwogu of the People's Democratic Party the winner of the Rivers South-East senatorial by-election, which took place on Saturday. Nwogu achieved a significant victory with a total of 47,961 votes.

The All Progressives Congress, represented by their candidate, managed to gather only 1,647 votes, resulting in a substantial defeat. The Action Alliance finished in third place with 1,175 votes, while the Labour Party trailed in fourth position with 367 votes.

This election was conducted to fill the vacancy created in the National Assembly following the passing of former Senator Barinada Mpigi.
