Atiku Abubakar Condemns ADC Deregistration Ruling

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, strongly criticized a court judgment that sought to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a direct attack on Nigeria's democracy. He stated that the ruling raises serious concerns about the respect for judicial processes and represents a dangerous escalation of authoritarian tactics.

Atiku emphasized that the judgment was delivered despite a subsisting court order that should have stalled further proceedings. He warned that this disregard for court orders jeopardizes the entire justice system and the survival of Nigeria's multiparty democracy.

Atiku accused the Bola Tinubu administration of attempting to weaken opposition parties instead of addressing pressing national issues such as insecurity, economic hardship, and unemployment. He called on ADC members to support the party and urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against attempts to undermine democratic institutions.
