Atiku Abubakar Alarms Over ADC Deregistration Plot

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has expressed alarm over what he describes as a plot by President Bola Tinubu's administration to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He warned that the ADC would strongly resist any interference in its affairs by the judiciary or the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Atiku made this declaration following the ADC's presidential primary election, in which the party's candidate received 1,846,370 votes. He noted that the ADC continues to face pressure from the government and INEC, which he alleges is undermining the party's legitimacy.

Atiku congratulated all aspirants who participated in the primary, emphasizing their commitment to the country's future. He also highlighted the worsening economic situation in Nigeria, marked by rising insecurity and political nepotism.

Despite the challenges, he stated that it is not yet time to celebrate the party's victory, especially amid complaints from opponents regarding the conduct of the primary elections held across the country.
