Atiku Accuses APC of Plotting to Exclude ADC from Elections

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has alleged a fresh plot by the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to keep the African Democratic Congress (ADC) off the ballot for the upcoming 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Frank Shaibu, Atiku disclosed that he received credible information indicating renewed efforts to undermine the ADC's participation.

He emphasized that the ADC represents a credible alternative and called on Nigerians, not just ADC members, to support the defense of democracy. Atiku warned that the ruling party's tactics, which include legal maneuvers and political pressure, threaten the integrity of Nigeria's electoral process.

He urged the judiciary to remain impartial and resist external pressures, reminding that sovereignty belongs to the people. Atiku stressed that any attempt to prevent the ADC from participating in the elections would be a grave assault on Nigeria's constitutional democracy.
