Bandits Kill Five Residents and Soldier in Plateau State Attack

In a recent incident in Plateau State, bandits launched a deadly attack on Zurak community in the Bashar district. The assailants killed five residents and a soldier, while three soldiers are currently missing.

The attack began with the burning of several houses in Sabon Gari community before advancing to Zurak. Wase Shapi Sambo, a youth leader, confirmed the attack and the evacuation of the slain soldier's body.

Jibrin Isa, a resident of Zak community, described the attack as devastating, leading to the desertion of Zurak community by fearful residents. The bandits overwhelmed security personnel stationed in the area, looting shops and causing destruction.

The assault started at a military checkpoint in Sabon Gari before moving to commercial areas. The community is now gripped by fear of further attacks, prompting some residents to flee to neighboring villages for safety.
