Bandits Demand Conditions for Release of Ex-DHQ Spokesman

Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former Director of Defence Information, and his wife were abducted while traveling along the Matazu axis in Katsina State. Armed men blocked their vehicle, opened fire, and whisked them away to an unknown location, injuring their driver during the attack.

In a video that surfaced on Saturday, Abubakar's wife made a public appeal for help, urging Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda and local government chairmen from Matazu, Musawa, Kankia, Charanchi, and Kusada to intervene. The kidnappers have set conditions for the couple's release, demanding the return of three detained members and confiscated livestock, including cows and goats.

They also want the release of three boys arrested, including Aminu Sani and Nasiru. Abubakar's wife emphasized the urgency of their situation, appealing for assistance to meet the kidnappers' demands.
