Ex-Defense Spokesman Maj Gen Rabe Abubakar Abducted

On a Saturday, it was confirmed that Maj Gen Rabe Abubakar (retd), the former director of defense information, and his wife were abducted by gunmen in Katsina State. The kidnapping took place in the Matazu Local Government Area while they were traveling.

Reports indicate that the driver of their vehicle, a red Peugeot 406, managed to escape despite sustaining gunshot injuries. A military source stated that efforts are underway to rescue the retired senior officer's wife, and appropriate security agencies have been alerted, although the Nigerian Police Force has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
