Retired General and Wife Plead for Rescue in Abduction Video

A retired Major General and his wife, Hajiya Amina Abubakar, were abducted in Katsina on a Saturday while traveling with their driver, Abdullahi Sa Idu. Their vehicle was ambushed along the Marabar Musawa-Kafinsoli road in Matazu Local Government Area, near Zakin Baur Village.

The attack was executed by armed men believed to be bandits, who opened fire and forced the vehicle to halt. The driver was shot in the hand but was spared.

A video of the couple was circulated on social media, showing them pleading for rescue and appealing to the Katsina State Government for assistance. The abductors, identified as Sani Aminu Nasiru, demanded the return of livestock allegedly seized and expressed a willingness to engage in dialogue for peace.

No ransom was mentioned in the video, and as of the report, neither the Katsina State Government nor security agencies had issued an official statement regarding the video.
