Aishatu Binani Joins Nigeria Democratic Congress from ADC

Aishatu Binani, the former governorship candidate for Adamawa State, has officially joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) after leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) just nine months prior. She received her NDC membership card on a Friday, attributing her decision to the party's commitment to structured governance and its influence on political bases.

Binani emphasized the importance of supporting political journeys and expressed gratitude for the loyalty she received during her transition. The NDC, led by Senator Seriake Dickson, welcomed her, highlighting the party's inclusive platform and readiness to accommodate new members.

Binani's move comes after a controversial electoral challenge against the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, during the 2023 elections, where her declaration as the winner was nullified by the Independent National Electoral Commission. The NDC anticipates that her defection will reshape political alignments in Adamawa State.
