El-Rufai's Corruption Trial Adjourned to June 2026

The corruption trial of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai was adjourned by the Federal High Court in Kaduna due to the failure of two co-defendants to appear. El-Rufai is facing charges related to alleged abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The court proceedings were disrupted as the two co-defendants did not attend, leading to the adjournment of the case. The next hearing is scheduled for June 28, 2026.

El-Rufai has consistently denied the allegations against him, which include claims that public funds were improperly released for projects that were either not executed or handled irregularly during his tenure as governor.
