Court Adjourns Malami and Son's Terrorism Trial to 2026

On Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja adjourned the terrorism trial of former Attorney General Abubakar Malami and his son to March 10, 2026. The adjournment was granted following an application from the Director of Public Prosecution, who requested more time to properly study the case file.

Counsel for the defense, Oyedepo, explained that the recent transfer of the case to the Department of State Services necessitated additional time to familiarize themselves with the details of the case. The defense did not oppose the adjournment but urged the court to strike the case if the prosecution failed to commence the trial by the next scheduled date.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik presided over the matter and adjourned it until March 10, with the prosecution expected to open its case on that date, with further details to be provided later.
