El-Rufai Alleges Plot to Arrest Him by APC-Led Government

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has alleged a plot by the APC-led Federal Government to arrest him. El-Rufai, a chieftain of the opposition ADC, claims that there is mounting political pressure on politicians to either defect from the ruling APC or remain within the party.

He made these allegations during an interview with BBC Hausa. El-Rufai has been a vocal critic of President Bola Tinubu's administration on the APC platform, having governed Kaduna State for eight years.

While El-Rufai himself has not been arrested, several of his close associates have been detained. The former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, is currently in custody facing charges of economic and financial crimes, including money laundering.

Malami has also been accused of involvement in terror financing. Despite these allegations, Malami denies any wrongdoing and describes the situation as a political witch hunt following his defection from the APC to the ADC.
